18 Apr Interior Wall Panels – Have You Considered Your options?
Panelling is all very beautiful to start off with but after 10 years the beauty becomes a burden. It’s part of the structure of the boat and replacing it can mean many man hours for carpenters, joiners and anyone else involved. Re-lacquering it can mean ventilating and closing down the entire boat for weeks whilst it is painstakingly sanded back and re-prepped. All this can be avoided and the entire interior can be given a new aesthetic. Leave the panels there, exactly as they are and call Wild Group to wrap over them.
So often we are asked to match a wood finish in a bridge to a vinyl. We feel that the only reason people ask this is because they are so used to being quoted exorbitant numbers that they don’t realise what could be achieved in such a short space of time for a nominal amount. There honestly is no need to match (although this is often easy given the vast range of wood effect available). The whole area can be brought up to date in days and the problem is rectified for years. These are PERMANENT solutions. Why put things off for next season when they can be done in days now?
Crew Areas are often very functional spaces where flair is frowned upon. Why not enhance the galley up with stone effect films? Or use these spaces to trial the material for use elsewhere? No need to settle for the mundane, beige panelling so often seen in these areas. For cheaper than re-spraying the area you could have, beach wood, granite, stucco, abstract, electric blue, beaten copper, gold leaf, carbon fibre, brushed aluminium, anthracite… need we go on?
