This is for a long standing client with yachts in Dubai. They have seen the benefits of wrapping newly painted yachts before using the yachts - the paint will last longer, the yacht is easy to clean, UV damage is significantly less and sand damage is a thing of the past.

Wrapping a yacht in PPF (Paint Protection Film) is becoming more popular, especially among owners of high-end vessels. Here’s a breakdown of the key benefits:

1. Protection from Scratches & Abrasions

  • PPF is self-healing and absorbs small scratches, dock rash, fender rub, and impacts from ropes or gear.

  • It's especially useful around high-contact areas like boarding zones or tight docking spaces.

2. UV & Oxidation Resistance

  • Constant sun exposure can fade gelcoat or paint, especially in tropical climates.

  • PPF blocks UV rays, preserving color and gloss over time.

3. Easier Cleaning & Maintenance

  • PPF is hydrophobic, so water, salt, and grime have a harder time sticking.

  • Less buildup of salt spray, bird droppings, and algae means quicker washdowns.

🛠️ 5. Cost-Effective Compared to Repainting

  • Wrapping in PPF is often cheaper than repainting or repairing sun damage.

  • Also allows for spot replacements—you can just rewrap a damaged panel instead of refinishing a whole section.

7. Corrosion & Chemical Resistance

  • Salt, fuel spills, bird droppings, and cleaning agents can be corrosive over time.

  • PPF provides a protective barrier to minimize chemical damage.

The wrap took 3 weeks and was completed inside a shed in Genoa.
