The Stunning Sailing Yacht, Lyra, was built by Wally in 2000. With a beam of 5.85 m and a draft of 4.99 m, she has a carbon hull and carbon superstructure.
The team were commissioned to wrap the entire hull, coachroof and cockpit in Black Satin Film prior to her commencing the regatta season.
In order to fit in with the refit program, the hull was wrapped in Alicante then the coachroof and cockpit were wrapped in Palma. S/Y Lyra (ex Princess D) has had an extensive refit involving new keel, mast and sails. The refit team did an excellent job of of filling, fairing and prep for the final finish in Satin Black.
Greg Hoar, founder of Wild Group International states:
‘We have been commissioned to work with yachts of all types, sizes and colours, from M/Y Aviva, to S/Y Phaedo3, to the windows of M/Y Lauren L, to heavily chartered yachts such as Naomi S. Lyra has been a pleasure to work with and an excellent introduction to this sector of the market. As she is a classic Wally 77, she is one of the first of her class to receive this type of finish. She looks spectacular in the Satin Film and we wish her all the best of luck with her season.’
Advantages of Satin/Matte film over Satin/Matte paint:
No glossing up under fenders
Suncream Hand Prints easy to clean off
Virtually invisible joins on repairs, difficult for paint repairs as you can not buff satin/matte paint.
